Little Nemo and the World of Dreams Review

Jason Momoa plays Johnny Depp in Wonderland

Young Nemo, who has lost his father, seeks to find him in his dreams. A somewhat wise adaptation of a crazy comic book from the beginning of the 20th century, this lively production will nevertheless delight young and old alike, with Jason Momoa in the wrong role.

FANTASY, HUMOR AND A LITTLE EMOTION: AN EXPLOSIVE COCKTAIL

You're probably used to it: at Hitek, we regularly share with you the programs that are successful on streaming platforms and especially on Netflix. Often, it's about horrific series or movies, full of action, or inspired by real facts. Sometimes, it's even a combination of all of these elements at once.

Little Nemo and the World of Dreams Review

But today, we are going to change the register since we are going to talk about Little Nemo and the World of Dreams (Slumberland, in VO).

If you are English-speaking, you may have already heard of this work under the name of Little Nemo in Slumberland, since it is the name of the comic book on which is based the two-hour feature film directed by Francis Lawrence (Hunger Games, I Am Legend) and available since this Friday, November 18, 2022. It has been several days since the film has been a great success and now occupies the first place of the Top Most Watched Movies on Netflix.

JASON MOMOA TRIES HIS HAND AT FAMILY COMEDY

But what does Little Nemo and the World of Dreams actually say? If the original comic book presents Nemo as a young boy trying to enter Slumberland to meet a princess, the Netflix adaptation makes Nemo a little orphan who wants to get his hands on a mysterious stone "that will grant his dearest wish": to find his missing father.

Funny, touching and full of fantasy, the fantasy comedy made in Netflix also owes its success to the presence of Jason Momoa in the cast. He plays Flip, a particularly extravagant outlaw and seems to correspond to the will of the Hawaiian actor to choose more original and offbeat roles.

He accompanies the young girl played by Marlow Barkley in a dreamlike world filled with magic and elements as fantastic as zany that will not be without reminding a certain Alice in Wonderland!

In short, a great evening for the whole family.
