Another film by actress Yami Gautam, titled Chor Nikal Ke Bhaga, has taken the direct to OTT route. The film, directed by Ajay Singh, has Sunny Kaushal in the other key role. The film is currently streaming on Netflix, and we'll see what it's all about.
The story Chor Nikal Ke Bhaga:
Neha Grover (Yami Gautham), a flight attendant, falls in love with a businessman, Ankit Sethi (Sunny Kaushal). Neha gets pregnant, and while everything is going well, Ankit reveals to Neha that he has an unpaid debt of 20 crores that comes from his former company. Ankit is asked to steal diamonds to pay off the debt.
When Ankit refuses, a small fight breaks out between him and his creditors, and Neha loses her pregnancy. Neha and Ankit decide to steal the plane carrying the diamonds. But to their surprise, the plane is hijacked by a group of terrorists. What happened next? Did Neha and Ankit succeed? The film has the answers.
Chor Nikal Ke Bhaga Highlights:
The basic idea of the film is quite exciting. Combining the aspects of a heist and a hijacking is an interesting idea. Sure, we would have seen heist dramas and hostage thrillers separately, but the idea of mixing these genres is impressive. On the one hand, we are shown two lovebirds planning to pull off a heist to pay off their heavy debt, and on the other hand, we have a bunch of terrorists who have their own demands.
The film starts off very well, and the character introductions are well done. Yami Gautham gets better with each film and has once again done a convincing job here. As the stewardess and as someone who is worried about her boyfriend, the actress gave a superior performance.
Sunny Kaushal was very good in her role. Sharad Kelkar, though appearing briefly, has a very good impact. As an intelligent RAW officer, he has done a convincing job. The film has some interesting moments.
Negative points of the Chor Nikal Ke Bhaga :
While what seemed like a pretty exciting idea on paper, the film isn't very interesting. Up until the moment the hijacking occurs, the film moves on an interesting note, but then it proves to be disappointing. The way the hijacking is presented lacks conviction and seems silly. The impact of the film is considerably reduced.
Today's audiences have become smarter because they have access to global content at their fingertips. Therefore, it is important for directors to be more careful to deceive the audience and cannot go wrong with even one scene, especially for a thriller. This is where the film takes a beating. The presence of a few scenes allows us to predict the following sequences, and therefore the twists and turns do not really surprise.
The film is wrapped up in 100 minutes. A lot seems to happen on screen, but the quick editing gives the impression that everything ended abruptly. After a very good set up, the reveal and denouement are disappointing.
Chor Nikal Ke Bhaga Technical aspects:
The background music by Ketan Sodha is good. Most of the film takes place in the plane, and Gianni Giannelli's photography is good. The production values are adequate. However, the editing, as mentioned, could have been better.
As for director Ajay Singh, he did a good job with this film. The concept was fascinating and the film could have been a great thriller if not for the writing problems. The potential was not fully exploited, so the film is only a passable entertainment.
Movie review - Chor Nikal Ke Bhaga
On March 24, Anubhav Sinha's film "Bheed" hit the screens. The fourth installment of the action franchise "John Wick" was released. Apart from these two big and well-known films, another film was released, "Chor Nikal Ke Bhaga". Actors like Yami Gautam, Sunny Kaushal and Sharad Kelkar starred in this thriller film that was released on Netflix. Ajay Singh has produced the film. How is the movie, let's talk about it. Let's start with the story of the movie.
Neha is a flight attendant. One day, he meets Ankit. Ankit's work is not clear. The paths of the two cross a few more times. After ten minutes, they both fell in love. After getting close to Ankit, Neha learns that he is in trouble. He has to pay 20,000 rupees to someone. For this, he has to fly. In a plane flying several thousand feet above the ground. Diamonds are traveling with the passengers of the plane. Ankit and Neha want to make them disappear.
Their plan moves forward when there is movement in the plane's bathroom. A terrorist comes out with a gun. The plane has been hijacked. There are a total of three terrorists on this flight. There was supposed to be a flight. Then the hijacking took place. But there is more to the story than that. To know what it is about, you have to watch the movie.
Chor Nikal Ke Bhaga Official Trailer
Chor Nikal Ke Bhaga" is not a great film. It is not a bad film either. It oscillates between the two. Even if it leans to one side, one could say that it is an above average film. The film does not want to be remembered only for its thriller parts. That's why a world is also created around it. But it was removed so quickly that you are not able to fully invest yourself. Like the love story of Neha and Ankit. Like Brahmastra's love story, it moves quickly.
Towards the end of a suspenseful movie, things open up so suddenly that it becomes difficult to make calculations a few minutes after the movie ends. Whether she is able to answer all her questions or not. 'Chor Nikal Ke Bhaga' shows you the ends of all the threads, it connects them till the end. In the first half of the film, you wonder why some characters behave so casually. Especially the terrorists. Watching them, one gets the impression that the actions of the terrorists in the film are more professional than they are. But the answer lies further down.
The real action of the film begins in flight. It has its share of thriller. Some of it is gripping. After watching many thrillers, you get an idea of what's going to happen. If the box is opened, what will come out inside? But we are curious to know how this box will open. The same is true for "Chor Nikal Ke Bhaga". After a while, things start to get predictable. But the way the film manages to do this keeps things interesting.
Chor Nikal Ke Bhaga is not a new film. It doesn't show anything that suspenseful films have not shown before. But the way it presents things that happened before it is its strong point. In this regard, we have to talk about Ajay Singh's direction. There are some flaws in the writing of the film. But Ajay Singh's direction doesn't allow to pay attention to these flaws to some extent.
Yami Gautam is the biggest star of this movie. You will know why after you see the movie. It feels like the actors don't have much to do in this suspenseful movie. But whatever situation Yami's character is placed in, it does him justice. He was accompanied by Sunny Kaushal, who played the role of Ankit. Looking at Sunny, one gets the impression that she is only in her transition period. He has not yet fully blossomed as an actor. In some scenes, he becomes overly dramatic. On the other hand, watching some of the scenes, it feels like you are pulling back.
Sharad Kelkar is also acting in the film. RAW officers have been created. A small role, but it is remembered. An absolutely natural work. Indranil Sengupta is also present, but the film is not able to use him properly. At the end of 2023, 'Chor Nikal Ke Bhaga' will not be among the memorable films of the year. It is an entertainment film. It is at times moving. These are all the elements that should be in a 'one-time movie'. It can be viewed once.
